The interior of the Nursing and Rehabilitation Center seems oddly removed from the present day and age. Uninspiring shades of tan and brown dominate the walls and floors making the place appear rather dreary and dull. Everything there bears an outdated look, from tables to lamps and even the telephones by the residents' beds.

The Admissions' office which is located just behind the receptionist area does give the impression of a messy work environment but, to be fair, this is a busy office with scads of paperwork to be processed at all times. The two employees who work in Admissions are welcoming, warm and willing to help.

Unfortunately, it is a "hit or miss" proposition once you pass Admissions and attempt to find others who exude similar hospitality as the two people in the Admissions office.

Nurses seemed friendly enough and appeared to perform patient care duties efficiently, if not enthusiastically. The Aides, however, with one exception, failed to leave me with a similar impression. Although it was my mother's first day there, the aide assigned to her care made no effort to convey a welcoming attitude, and could not muster so much as a standard American greeting or short introduction upon coming into my mother's room for the first time. (from her apparent muteness I presumed this woman did not speak English, but I later learned otherwise).

It's all business here and some nurses, aides, etc. will snap at residents who step out of line or attempt to leave their beds or chairs without first summoning a staff member for assistance. Ensuring the safety of residents is of primary concern to this facility which, were it not for their somewhat harsh enforcement of the rules, would be commendable.

Rehab sessions for residents struck me as minimal, the food mediocre and, most importantly, the place fell flat with respect to the caregiver team's overall attitude and treatment towards residents.

This place may be fine for someone who needs little or no help with personal care or who can manage comfortably in a facility where the "care team' does not really seem to care very much at all..

They ignored my questions and my appointment seemed rushed. I definitely don't trust their advice. They're only concerned about themselves. Their office was kind of gross. I was scared I was going to catch something from being in the office. The cologne they wore was nauseating. I wanted to cover my nose the entire time I was there. I could hardly stand being in the room. Everything they originally told me they would be able to do for me, they ended up not being able to do. I felt lied to.
