I was referred to Dr. Latall by my general physician because of my asthma/allergy issues. On my first visit, Dr. Latall administered some basic tests as well as an allergy patch test, and then prescribed 4 medications for me. FOUR. I had repeatedly told him I did NOT want to be on a steroid inhaler unless absolutely necessary, but he gave me one anyway, along with an abuterol inhaler (I had never previously used any medications or inhalers for my asthma, as it was not horribly severe) and two allergy pills to take daily. I took the pills but not the steriod. I followed up and told him I did not take the steroid, which he at first was ok with, but then gave me a free sample of a different steroid. I was taking the pills and having various issues with them but every time I saw him he talked over me, told me that I'd said something to him that was actually quite different from what I'd expressed, and push another medication on me. It was so frustrating. Also, his hours are limited, so it was difficult to get an appointment. I had the pills on auto-refill at my pharmacist, and FREQUENTLY had to go days, even two weeks once, without pills because he was so hard to reach that my pharmacy couldn't get a response from him for refills. After the two weeks without my pills, I just weened myself off them using the last refill, and never saw Dr. Latall again. I am currently seeking a new allergist that actually cares about me, rather than the prescription companies that are obviously paying him. I am very open to a doctor's opinion and care when I first see them, but Dr. Latall proved intolerable. I ended up with asthma and allergies that are far worse than they'd been, untreated, for my entire life.
