Viji Murali works as a “pediatrician” with Krishna Sampath at 1337 Cottman Avenue in Philadelphia PA 19111. When I first went into the office with my daughter, we were both waiting in the receptionist area to take care of some paperwork. We already waited for a significant amount of time standing in front of the receptionist and the staff were taking their good old time talking about their lives. This was not acceptable to me and I complained to them that I had an appointment after this. This seemed to finally get the staff’s attention but now they were angered.

Ever since then, Murali and at least one other staff member have been consistently rude with my daughter and my family. The sad part is the only reason we go there is because the other real pediatrician is there. Her name is Krishna Sampath. I have high praise for her but we have to go through Murali and at least one rude staffer.

She has insulted my family and played many dirty tricks. Murali insults you with veiled insults. For example she kept asking me what I did. At first I thought she was being friendly but she then after repeated questioning by her, I realized she was trying to say I’m a “doctor” but look at you. She also kept asking where I lived. Again I thought this was for conversation but I quicky realized she was saying was I lived in a bad area and therefore am not that important. She was good at doing that.

Whenever I arranged an appointment I would always ask for Dr. Sampath, but on some occasions Murali and one staff member would say Sampath is not available and tell us to go with her. Then in the exam room she would insult my daughter. When my daughter was in the exam room being with Murali she would cry. Then Murali would say “She’s mad. She’s so mad.” She was trying to say my daughter is crazy or has mental illness. She would always do in that veiled way.

When my daughter was an infant and Murali examined her, she found some reddish birthmarks behind her hair in the back oh her head. She pointed them out as if my daughter was imperfect. She didn’t mention that these marks would go away in time and not to worry about it. Of course they did go away in time.

One other time my 2-year old daughter was standing in the hallway just looking and Murali says “She doesn’t even smile”. She kept repeating it over and over loudly to other parents in the vicinity. She was implying something was wrong with my child or my parenting skills.

One time one of the rude staffer totally changed the day of my appointment. I complained to Dr. Sampath and she straightened out the staffer right in front of me. That was great but Murali and the one worker continued with their pranks.

Another thing done is that Murali will talk bad about my family and I in front of the staff. She was trying to get other staff members to dislike me.

When I’m at the office they make me wait a very long time in the waiting room and then finally we get called in. We again wait a long time in the examination room. When Murali finally comes in she talks real fast and tries to spend as little time with you as possible. If I say anything she keeps saying “What’s that” in a rude way to give her time to come up with insults. When my family comes out of the examination room, the other parents think we were holding them up because of the long time. In fact it was Murali who sat there talking in the office and making us wait. One time she saw other families who arrived after us. When she’s talking with her coworkers she talks at normal speed.

One time we arrived early for our appointment and we were waiting outside as the doors of the office did not open. Some of the other staffers came out of the another door some distance away from us. I immediately recognized one of them as the rude staffer. She told use to go in she would open the door. I thought she softened up and was being nice. In fact what she did was heavily spray the office with Lysol. It was so strong I considere
