Dr. Kolansky seems more interested in getting to the gym than his patients. His technique surgigal removal of basal cell skin cancer left me with deep and ugly scars that I was not forewarned about. Though I know basal cell is tricky to remove, I think the job could have been done better and certaintly with a more caring attitude.

Dr. Kolansky is a gifted dermatologist. I would highly recommend him to anyone needing a knowledgeable, caring physician. My family & I have been patients of Dr. Kolansky's for many years. Over the years, between the 5 of us, we have been treated for routine to the most extensive procedures with fabulous results. Yes, there is a wait to get an appointment & in the waiting room, but that's because he spends the necessary time with his patients & he is good @ what he does. Would you trust a physician with an open schedule & an empty waiting room?! I wouldn't. Again, I would highly recommend this physician.

I went to Dr. Kolansky a couple of years ago with psoriasis on one knee and in the groin area. He prescribed two topical medications that made my knee red and raw. I stopped and restarted them for a couple of years before going back a few days ago. He spent maybe five minutes with me and gave me four prescriptions. One was Clobex spray for the knee. The others were Vectical ointment, Desonate gel and Cutivate lotion, all marked for the groin, but with directions I couldn't figure out and my pharmacist couldn't figure out either. Best I could figure out, for two weeks I should use Vectical at bedtime and Desonate in the morning, then switch to Vectical at bedtime and Cutivate in the morning but only as needed. I phoned to verify that and was put on indefinite hold. I hung up and faxed my question. A few minutes later I got a phone call that gave me different directions. Cutivate should not be used on the groin, and I should use Desonate as needed, and Vectical regularly. Cutivate was one of the medications prescribed before that was too strong for the knee. Was the prescription I just got for Cutivate, clearly marked for the groin, a mistake? I don't know.
