I have been a patient of Dr. Hinshaw since 2000. He is one of the most dedicated doctors by whom I have ever been treated. Dr. Hinshaw recognized and referred me for treatment for an autoimmune inflamatory disease by paying attention to symptoms beyond my eyes. He also recently recommended antibody testing for me that was not covered by my insurance. However, because I trust his judgement, I went ahead and paid for the test myself. The test indicated that I have an antibody that may be a predictor of an agressive form of lung cancer (I am in my mid-30s and a non-smoker). He received the results late on a Friday evening, researched the results through Saturday morning and called me from his home Saturday morning to discuss a course of treatment. Dr. Hinshaw has treated me on Saturdays and Sundays (after office hours) when I have had serious inflamation in my eyes. He spends as much time with each patient as is needed to understand our symptoms and uses the most advanced and up-to-date treatments. I have recommended Dr. Hinshaw to friends with serious eye conditions. I would receommend him to anyone wants a doctor who listens, cares and provides a wholistic approach to medicine. Even after leaving St. Louis, I still use him as my opthomologist. I am lucky to have him as a doctor.
