the office was fast and effecient, the Dr was honest, refferred me to a oral specialist
even though he could do the procedure. he felt I woul d be better served by the oral surgon. He could have just as easaly did the procedure, got the payment and I would'nt have known except the added discomfort. This to me is comendable

I went to this office on the 23rd of May. The reason for my visit was that I needed a fill on a front tooth. When I walked-in to make the appointment I thought my insurance was enough and the woman I scheduled the appointment with the day before did not mention any need of payment the day of services. Today my appointment went very well.. the woman behind the desk that I had originally scheduled the appointment with asked for my insurance and ID it gave it to her and she took forever to give it back to me...it seemed like she was either having a really bad day or had a really bad attitude. The dentist saw me and he was super nice and friendly. He asked about my needs and I told him that I just needed a tooth filled, he definatley wasn't trying to do any extra expensive services that I did not need....I really appreciated that. Nowadays it seems like alot of dentists want to do the most expensive procceedures possible. The dentist filled my tooth perfectly and then I went back to the front to check out with the woman behind the desk with the attitude. She was on the phone and totally ignored me again. Finally she got off the phone and gave me a fake smile and said "all done?" She told me that my total was $144 and I asked her if she could bill me thinking nothing about it.....boy was I wrong. Her attitude went from bad to rude...she rolled her eyes and looked down at the the desk and said "No! you need to pay this total today." I calmly told her that I do not have any money to pay the bill. She took a long pause and said......"we can bill you later, but you will have to pay 18% interest every month this account is unpaid." She really hurt my feelings with her attittude and made me feel that because I did not have $144 right then and there that I was a piece of s***. I told her thank you and left...I felt her dirty look on my way out. This is a excellent practice to visit for all dental needs. I think the lady behind the counter should address her attitude problem with lower income patients. Just cause she can afford to have a beautiful smile does not mean that she has the right to JUDGE the next person for not. I thought that MacKay Dental was about....fixing broken smiles. :) I do have intentions on paying my bill and will visit this office again.
