We recently changed to to Dr. Shazia Mehdi's at Saratoga Dental LLC because of insurance. After examining my daughters teeth we were told that she had three cavities and an additional one that they wanted to watch. It is worth noting that her last examination was 6 months ago with no visible sign of cavities.

We made an appointment to take care of the 3 cavities, while Dr Mendi was in there she discovered two more and proceeded to drill them out with out seeking approval from my wife who was in the waiting room. My daughter started getting very upset during the procedures and was even crying because she was scared and did not really understand what was going on. Five cavities in one sitting even for an adult would be traumatic experience, let alone a 14 year old!! I don't claim that the cavities were not real?? But I am very disappointed in Dr. Mendi for the following:

1) The procedure was for 3, not 5, cavities she had no right to proceed with parental approval !!

2) Her bedside manner is atrocious! When a patient is in tears it would make sense to stop the procedure and notify the parents that there is a problem.
