I was an established patient when I called them with an abscessed tooth. The receptionist said they were booked for three weeks and I would have to wait for a cancellation. I got in four days later. She incorrectly me told me that my insurance company "requires" preapproval - which was news to me. The dentist did not offer me an antibiotic prescription, I had to ask for one. Receptionist told me she would call me as soon as she got the preapproval. Three weeks later, I called the insurance company, not only did I find out the preapproval is only a suggestion to help the patient know in advance what their share would be, but also that they had mailed it two weeks previous. When I called the dentist's office, she admitted that she had gotten it but they were just too busy and booked for the next three weeks and that I would have to wait for a cancellation. As if! Not even if they were the last dentist's office on earth. I have now had my abcessed tooth for 7 sore and swollen weeks. I got an appointment at a new dentist office within three days! Needless to say I wouldn't let anyone I know go there. I also had a very difficult time trying to pick up the Xray. The first time I tried, they had closed at 4:30. Who closes at 4:30?? They close at 3:00 on mondays and fridays! I asked my husband to pick them up for me the next day as I can't get there before 4:30. They wouldn't give them to him without a signed release. I took off work an hour early to get them the next day. All they gave me was the xrays I brought to them when I first went to them. Now I have to have the Xray redone!!!! A truly rediculous experience.
