I was surprised that I was explaining to the dentist the pros cons of amalgam vs epoxy fillings. Yes, amalgam is stronger.. but it heats/cools much faster than the tooth causing teeth to become more prone to cracking (leading to caps) over time AND you have to destroy much more of the tooth to get the amalgam in there to begin with... So... even though epoxy might not last as long overall it was really a BETTER choice for the long term viability of the tooth (AND..no mercury). Staff was really unhelpful-- explaining that they couldn't figure out how to schedule a filling and a cleaning in the same day and that two office visits would be required (no matter how far out you might be willing to schedule)-- it couldn't be done. When asked for xrays to be forwarded to another dentist-- they wanted to charge me fees (something all other dentists I've worked with have done for free). I wouldn't visit again nor recommend
