I had the same experience and Deerfield Family Dental. They are total scam artists and they definitely use the insurance company as a way to get more victims. They charged me over $200.00 for exam and x-rays when all these items were covered under my insurance. My insurance company confirmed that the total charges based off the procedure codes should have been $15.00. They refused to refund the charges and claimed that they told me prior to the exam that they wouldn't take insurance for the exam/consult. I was never informed of the charges until AFTER the exam and they gave me three different stories as to why they were charging such a high co-payment. All were found to be untrue after further research. I recommend this company to be invetigated by the authorities for insurance fraud.

The dentist was friendly enough. They weren't overly nice but I felt comfortable there. There was lots of available parking at their office. You have to make sure you know what your copayment is before having any procedures done. They will charge you more than double and claim they only use upgraded materials. They take your insurance to get you in the door. I filed a grievance with my insurance company and got my money refunded after they investigated the charges. They claimed I asked for the upgrade even though I had them stop between my appointment and had to go to another dentist to finish the work at more than half the price and no extra procedures needed. They were very nice until I started to question the charges. If you don't care about money or being ripped off than this is the dentist for you.
