Very successful left knee replacement. Post operative management very good - quickly mobile and pain medication titrated down in a thoughtful way. Highly recommend Dr Mead and his team.

I was referred to Dr. Mead by a friend. I had been told for years I needed double knee replacement surgery. After consulting with Dr. Mead, I decided the time was right and he was the perfect surgeon. The day of the surgery I wasn't the least bit concerned because I felt so confident in Dr. Mead. The surgery went perfectly and I recovered much more quickly than expected. Dr. Mead and his staff are very professional and caring. NCH is a wonderful hospital. Overall, this experience has been so much better than I possibly could have hoped for. One year later I'm able to do all my activities pain free!

On 3/26/2017 I had a hip replacement with Dr.Mead.. That was an unbelievable experience from start to finish. The compassion and quality of service and care was the best I have ever experienced. They treat their patients like family with compassion and love. My pain is completely gone and I am able to dance once again and wear my high heels!

Excellent, Excellent, Excellent. I would give Dr Mead 10 stars if I could. I had a ski accident in Colorado and did serious damage to my knee. I called Dr Mead immediately (based on his outstanding reputation among people I knew.). Although he is undoubtedly busy, the scheduler gave me an appointment for my first day back in town. Dr Mead scrutinized my test reports from the original ER visit, took additional X-rays, and proposed surgery to replace my ACL and repair my lateral meniscus, even though I am older than one who might normally undergo this surgery. The surgery went well. He and his staff were always available for communication post-surgery. When a some questions came up, I faxed my questions to the office, and while I expected a nurse to call me back with the answers, I was shocked that Dr Mead called me, on his lunch hour, and spent as much time as necessary to answer my questions. I then went up north for the summer and since I couldn't come in for another post-op visit, we communicated again via phone. I couldn't be happier with Dr Mead or his support staff. Did I occasionally have to wait in the office for my appointment? Yes... but I would rather have to wait a little and have a doctor who is responsive and communicative than have a doctor who sticks strictly to his 15 minute appointments and doesn't entertain any discussions.

I had a knee replacement on May 30 2017 done by Dr Mead's and had stem cell implanted during surgery. Two of my friends also ad the same surgery on one two mints prior to mine. We are all nurses . They did not have stem cells. We wanted to compare the difference in the use of stem cells . They were surprised is the short time I had stopped taking the pain medication, three days after coming home from the hospital I was walking with out a cane at a week . They were both using a cane at three weeks. My range motion was also. Ibetter than their at the same time. I feel the stem cells made a difference in the recovery , they also felt there was a difference in their recovery verse mine. I would highly recommend stem cell treatment and Dr.Mead

From the start of my experience to replace my knee I was amazed at the experience and excellent care of all I came in contact with. Dr mead gave me confidence to go forward with my surgery and I can and do everything.I don't seem to have any limitations. My recuperation at the moorings was also an excellent experience. Thank you Dr mead and your entire staff.

I went to Dr Mead with debilitating hip/upper thigh pain. (Bursa pain is the term). After initial injections relieved the pain I was delighted. Over the course of a couple of years the pain increased and I requested a knee replacement.....Dr Mead had found the knee to be arthritic when I first visited the office. At the time of surgery I had my own stem cells harvested and injected into the knee and the upper bursa area (that had been paining me)The pain in bursa ceased after surgery. My knee is into 6 months of healing and working and feeling better each day. I'm glad I had the procedure. I'm also happy it's behind me!Katie
