Dr. Hemsath is just a money-grubbing woman who does not care one bit about her patients. She is cold, callous, and uncaring. It's obvious when you look at her horrid boob job that she is only after one thing: image. And image is upheld by money.

I have far too many stories to tell about her lack of care and money-grubbing ways. I should have gone with my gut and never have given her a second chance. But I didn't, and this is WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW:
When you call in, you will have to leave a voicemail because no one in her office seems to think picking up a phone is worthwhile. Apparently they screen their calls.. makes you wonder why, doesn't it? I have a guess: too many people calling in to complain about her "care". But when you DO leave a message, it is nearly impossible to get someone in her office to call back.

One of the many issues I had that was the final breaking point for me was this:
I have 2 prescriptions from Hemsath. One is to treat a condition that is incurable, the other is to treat chronic yeast infections. My prescriptions were written a little over a year ago after my last visit to her. I called in concerning getting a refill for the yeast infection medicine and was told I was due for my well-woman exam. I explained that I had been to another doctor earlier in the year (because Hemsath's office never got back with me to schedule an appointment when I was dealing with a severe yeast infection and a UTI simultaniously) and the new doc mandated I get a pap because I was a new patient. So, I explained, I could send my records to show I already had a well-woman exam in the year, but my insurance wouldn't allow me to schedule another one yet. Well, Hemsath refused to accept the medical papers from the other doctor and refused to renew the prescription for yeast infections until I had come in for a pointless office visit and a pap that I would have had to pay for in full (here begins the money-grubbing).
Naturally, I declined, not having the money nor the time to have ANOTHER pap (That'd be 3 in a 1 year span).
Next thing I know, I can no longer get EITHER of my medicines (1. for yeast infections, 2. for my life-long condition).
When I call in to find out why my meds have been cancelled (Well..technically I left a message and had to wait hours to be called back) one of her office idiots told me that I had said I had another doctor and they cancelled my prescriptions. When I tried to explain that I still considered Hemsath my doctor and I needed at least the one prescription for my condition, they told me I would just have to come in. So, BEWARE: Hemsath will cancel and HOLD YOUR PRESCRIPTIONS HOSTAGE any time she wants more money!!

Dr. Hemsath and her staff are very friendly and professional. Dr. Hemsath is very good about listening to your whole story and explaining why she chose a specific treatment plan. She is a very good clinician and I have been pleased with my care. My only complaint with her office is that it can be very difficult to reach the office by phone. However, once you do get through, all of your questions/issues are swiftly addressed.
