I echo other reviews. Please avoid at all costs. I did not even know that I owe them $97, which they billed the insurance agency wrong in the first place, which I corrected them. I am surprised to get a call from collection agency and hear that I owe them money.
Called up their offices, and hear from 2 of their staff that it is not their fault, my fault. They did not have the courtsey to send me any notice before. Moreover, they hung up on me. By the way, I am not a yelling kind of person.
I have dumped them. I am paying for their service. I do not need any favor. I do not need their service to all of a sudden realize that my credit is trashed and also to get their rude behavior.
Beware of visiting this clinic! I visited them in August 2009 for some skin condition on the face and neck and found out that they are milking you out of your hard earned money at two levels. The skin cream prescribed was priced at $200, yes that is $200 and it did not work anyway. I had to go to another doctor for my treatment later. Also (and this is a bigger scam), they will schedule you for a visit knowing fully well that your insurance may not cover the visit and then send you the bill for the whole amount claiming that the insurance rejected the claim. Save yourself some money and heartburn and stay away from these scamsters!
The customer service you recieve on the phone is HORRIBLE!!!! The receptionist does not take the time to listen to your concerns- but just keeps talking. She yells, is curt, not customer oriented. I have had numerous difficulties trying to talk to her with no success in getting her to listen to what I am saying. I have talked to the office manager a few times over the last two years and addressed my concerns. She says she "hears" me, however, the receptionist still treats patients like dirt on the phone. The wait time in the waiting room and procedure room is always excessive. The actual procedure lasts less than 10 minutes but I am there usuall for an hour to an hour and an half. Unfortunately, I must stay with these doctors as I went through an extensive process to get my insurance to cover my procedures. If it were not for that- I WOULD DEFINITELY HAVE LEFT BEFORE I EVEN BEGAN. If you can go elsewhere- DO!!!!!!
I went to Dr. Patel for an initial visit. He was helpful. I spent more time waiting to see him than he spent looking at my acne. The prescription he gave me worked so I decided to go back. I called a few months later for a follow-up and to set up an appointment with him. The receptionist was EXTREMELY rude and very off-putting. Dr. Patel had left the practice even though according to my insurance and the practice's recorded messaging system he was still part of the practice. I started to ask her if the other dermatologists were covered under my insurance since I didn't see their names under my insurance website. She was very curt and impatient. I told her she was being extremely rude and she proceeded to tell me she was sick. I was very turned off by her attitude and prefer looking for a different practice.
I went to see Dr. Patel for an outbreak of Adult Acne. I traveled some distance through heavy traffic to get to a practice that I felt would be highly qualified. I was able to get to the office for my appointment on time, and was surprised I had to wait 20 minutes to see Dr. Patel. The waiting area was empty when I first arrived. When in the examination room with Dr. Patel, he took no history and asked few questions. Dr. Patel looked at my face and said that he was going to treat me for acne. He wrote out prescriptions and told me to return in three months. The total time in his office was 7 minutes. I had not known what to expect. When I asked him if my breakout was acne, he responded "Yes, adult acne." There was no further explanation. He did not explain the condition or expectations for the treatment process. He did not explain what could have caused the outbreak which I had never experienced. Perhaps Dr. Patel and the practice operates in this fashion and I should expect no more. I was, however, very disappointed.
