I was extremely disappointed by Dr Beris and Southbury Pediatrics (fyi: directly affiliated with Danbury Hospital). On each visit, 4-5 receptionists and multiple nurses were on-hand, and I never saw more than two other patients. With a staff that large, no surprise that the main focus seemed to be on increasing billables.

In a preliminary meeting, Dr Beris came across as direct and knowledgeable. (I'd heard that if your child had a serious illness, she's the doctor to see.) She also claimed to support breastfeeding ("If that's something that's important to you, we'll do everything we can to make that happen").

However, on the first visit with my 2-day-old daughter, Dr Beris tried to scare me into giving formula. They had us come back for weight checks every other day for two weeks (and charged for a full office visit each time) - not an easy prospect for a first-time mom on my own with a newborn.

We changed pediatricians after two weeks of that stress, and have been much happier with our new practice. (Daughter is doing great, btw - and I never gave her formula.)
