I've been seeing this doctor for years. His bedside manner needs work and his staff are, lets say a reflection of him. It's not the most welcomming feeling you get when you go. I continued to go to him because he helped my eyes. When other doctors did not understand what I was going through even though my perscription is mild, he figured it out and perscribed me progressive lenses and also recommend transitions, and glare to deal with my sensativity to light. Well on my most recent visit I had to go back to have my eyes rechecked. I was having trouble with my glasses that I had made by a different place, my eyes would cross when I took them off, they gave me a headache and I felt like aI was living in a fish bowl. Well he is never happy when you ask for a perscription to take somewhere else. He treated me like an irritant, he said he had not made a mistake and he was rude to say the least. He raised his voice at meand his staff, everyone in the waiting room could hear. He was very uncaring about his patient. He barely wanted to recheck my eyes or to make sure that what he wrote as my perscription was correct. At that point I decided that I would never return to Dr Eric Cohen. Well long story short, I thought if there was something wrong, he was certainly too arragant to admit it. So I had my glasses remade, but still the same problem. Finally after a month in turmoil and wearing these glasses that were driving me crazy, I had to pay and go somewhere else and have my eyes rechecked. They found a few problems with my eyes, that he did not even have the current equipment to diagnosis, including a hole in my eye and spots indicating pulling from the retina that have to be watched to be sure they don't progress. They also found that he had reversed my perscription! The one intended for my left eye, he wrote for my right eye and vise versa. Everyone can make a mistake, but being unwilling and so arragant as to say "I never make a mistake" is pure stupidity. I shutter to think how my eyes could have been ruined if I had wore that perscription for more than the three weeks that I tried to get used to them. And to think that I'm going about thinking that my eyes were healthy other than a mild perscription. He definately needs sensativity trainning and continuing education classes to bring himself and his knowledge of the eyes and the newer equipment into this melinium.
