Lisa just lost a potential long-term new client based on her unreasonable business practice. I purchased a half price gift certificate (valued at $90), but she wrote on it that it had an expiration date. After trying to call a couple of times just before it expired (no answer, no vm...just ringing)--I forgot about it. When I remembered about it and finally spoke with her, I thought it would be reasonable to ask to be able to redeem my gift cert for the amount that was actually paid ($45). She responded "um, that is sort of a non-redeemable situation." So I responded back "so you're telling me that I just threw away $45 to you" and she answered "well, yes."
Needless to say, not a very good business practice; especially to bring on new clients!
