This is NOT a physician you want to have around anyone you care about--especially not a child. I would never visit them again. I was very disappointed. For the sake of your child, keep looking.

Dyess should not work with children--or any human beings. She is heartless, cold, manipulative, and deceitful. How such a person could be a certified pediatrician speaks volumes about the medical standards of this country.

You would expect a pediatrician to be kid friendly, but to my surprise they were cold and not friendly at all.Dr. Dyess has a lack personality and really should not be working with children. She is very dull. Which explains some of her staff's poor attitudes. They made no effort to make my child feel welcome. The receptionist never greets you or acknowledges you at the window, unless she needs you fill out paperwork or you are paying your bill Every time I visit, I have to remind them why I'm visiting them. It irritates me, when medical staff don't take the time to read over your child's chart before they enter the exam room. During the appointments, Dr. Dyess addressed my child only. Most of her questions were directed toward the child, which suprised me because you would think that the parent would have the most accurate information regarding the child's health and not the child. My child has been going to the clinic since birth, but was being seen by Dr. Shelley McCormick. I was very please with Dr. McCormick. She was easy to talk to and spent as much time as was needed with me and my child. She not only treated the child, but often times was concern about the parents health and well-being. When Dr. McCormick left to establish her own practice, a lot of patients followed. Unfortunate, when Dr. McCormick took a position as a Hospitalist at a local hospital, she closed her practice, so we ended up back at Pediatric Plus. What a major mistake. Our last visit in the clinic, didn't go so well after they were confronted about excessive billing. My child had strep throat and had to have labs done. They billed us as if my child was gravely ill and need emergency medical attention. Thank God, we were familiar with the medical codes and knew that most that were checked on the patient fee sheet didn't apply to my child's clinic visit at all. I thought I was going to have to take off my earring and put my hair up, after politely questioning the receptionist about my bill and she flipped me off with the flip of the wrist and told me not to worry about it. When I asked her why shouldn't I worry about it. She told me that it was already taken care of, without farther explanation. It took everything within me not to snatch her ass threw that window. God was with her that day. I mean, who does that? Why do I have to pull information about my bill out of you? Everytime I visited that clinic, the receptionist had a nasty attitude for no reason. To my surprised, I learn that one of the doctors in the practice had already been sited by Medicaid for excessive billing. Two weeks after the incident, I received a letter from the clinic telling me that I had to find another pediatrician for my child. At first I was shocked but then I had to laugh because prior to receiving the letter, I had already decided to find a new one. Ironically, it's only after you have had a poor experience with something or someone do you really learn more. After sharing my story with friends, I was surprise to learn a lot of patients had left the clinic because of the staff's bad attitudes and long wait times. I had one to tell me that one of the doctors in the clinic missed diagnosed her child with diabetes and had the child taking unecessary medication. WoW!!!
