I'm always amazed at how considerate and concerned they are for my well-being. Their advice is always wonderful and completely unbiased. I love that I can count on them to work with me until they find a solution for my situation. Other places I've visited, seem to give up after they don't have an answer for me the first time, but not here. There was no annoying music playing while I waited or during my visit. I appreciated that they didn't have that typical elevator music on.
While Dr. Schmidt is wonderful and caring, I find that his nurse is controling and vindictive at times when trying to get appt. or asking for a prescription for voice TEP supplies, I usually resort to having Primary care physician order the prothesis and associated supplies. This saddens me as it leaves my ENT out of the loop for my extended care.
Although Dr. Schmidt told me to call his office if there were any problems after my son's surgery, his staff was not very understanding or helpful. I called at 8:30 am and was told that the nurse would get back to me. It is now 5:00 pm and no one has returned my phone call. I understand that they are busy with appointments, but there should be someone in the office to help post surgery patients without having to wait for "after hours". I have no problem with Dr. Schmidt, but do not appreciate the way I was treated by his staff.
