I can truly say that Dr. McLeod has no personal interest in his patients' recovery or well-being. From my observations, his main concern was wracking up as may kick-backs as he could from each sick person that walked in his door. My first visit I waited for him for over an hour and forty-five minutes; the entire time listening to the complaining and gossiping of his foul-mouth nurses. The nurses expressed irritation with having to file my paperwork and insurance and even told me that they couldn't wait until their work day was over because they were tired of dealing with sick patients. When I finally met Dr. McLeod, he was very scatter-brained and persistent to have me undergo a very invasive procedure that I wasn't interested in or ready to undergo. (Later, a more competent physician told me that had I undergone that treatment I would have had major and irreversible nerve damage). When he finally grudgingly accepted my refusal for him to do the procedure, he actually sent a SALESMAN -not a nurse, a drug rep SALESMAN - into the room to persuade me to buy a thousand dollar TENS unit! (Which I of course, refused). He prescribed me only medications that were heavily endorsed by the pharm reps (which happened to be out in the hallway cutting up with McLeod every time I went for a visit). I even witnessed Dr. McLeod demean a very sick elderly woman and her husband in the hallway in front of plenty of other patients. He yelled at her, told her that she was not nearly as ill as his other patients who were dying of pancreatic cancer, and then he told her that she was no longer welcome at his clinic. As a fellow patient, I was terrified to upset him and send him on another rampage. I quickly asked my primary physician for a referral to another pain management physician with a HEART and passion for healing and a decent moral code. A few weeks after I quit seeing him, I received a bill in the mail for $3,000 dollars worth of laboratory work that he ordered from a facility in California (? Why California... We live in MS) without my knowledge or my consent. When I called to ask what the H*** that was about, his nurses denied that they sent the lab work and rudely let me know that I would have to pay the bill even though I did not request or was notified that the labs were even done. I hope he enjoys his kick-back trips to Hawaii (not) and the lavish lifestyle he lives as a result of pressuring patients to submit to unnecessary procedures. EVIL, EVIL MAN.. please, choose another physician. Dr. Vance on the floor above is a God-send. Please just go to him and save yourself massive medical bills and frustration.
