Matthew J Schuchert, MD, specializes in all aspects of thoracic surgical oncology, radiofrequency ablation, and CyberKnife. Dr Schuchert is board-certified in general surgery and thoracic surgery. He completed an undergraduate degree at Yale University, and received a medical degree at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He completed a residency in general surgery at UPMC, followed by a fellowship in minimally invasive thoracic and foregut surgery at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Dr Schuchert has written numerous chapters and journal articles on lung and esophageal cancer. His research investigates the immunology of lung cancer, and is primarily focused on the development of new therapies for cancer.
