Dr Bakhtiar grew up in the suburbs of Milwaukee. He attended undergrad at UW-Madison before getting his MS and MD at the New York Medical College. He completed his Emergency Medicine residency at Mount Sinai Morningside-West (Formerly St. Luke's- Roosevelt) one of the oldest and most competitive Emergency Medicine residencies in the country. He realized he enjoyed long-term care of patients, prompting him to pursue a fellowship in Sports Medicine. He then attended one of the most procedure heavy Sports Medicine Programs in the Country at Texas A & M While at A & M he was a team doctor for all the Aggie Teams.
