Abubaker Ali, MD, FACS, is a board-certified general surgeon who earned a medical degree from the University of Khartoum in Khartoum, Sudan. He completed his residency in general surgery at Wayne State University in Detroit, MI, and a fellowship in minimally invasive surgery, advanced GI, and hepatopancreatic biliary at the University of Florida in Jacksonville, FL. Dr Ali has been a faculty member at Wayne State University, teaching surgery since 2016 and has been an attending physician at the John D Dingell Veterans Affairs Medical Center since 2022. Dr Ali has also served as an attending physician at five Detroit, MI-area hospitals simultaneously since 2016, including Karmanos Cancer Institute.
