Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare: When I was younger, my grandmother was diagnosed with lung cancer. I was very impressed by the care she received, specifically from the hospice nurses who made it possible for her to spend her final days at home, surrounded by family. I was very inspired by these nurses to pursue a career in medicine, specifically nursing. What I want my patients to know about me: Prior to becoming a family health nurse practitioner, I was an ICU nurse for 5 years. What I do when I'm not seeing patients: When I'm not seeing patients, I enjoy reading, cycling, and going for hikes with my husband, son, and our two dogs. You can also find me at the beach whenever I get the chance to go!
