About
Ilona Lorincz
I have been a practicing endocrinologist since 2013. In my clinical practice, I see patients with diabetes, thyroid, and reproductive conditions, and I provide gender affirming care. My goal is to evaluate your endocrine condition within the context of your overall health and work with you on achieving your health goals through lifestyle and medical therapies.
I completed my undergraduate training at Dartmouth College, received my medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine, and completed my internal medicine residency and fellowship at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. During my endocrine fellowship, I completed a fellowship in QI/Patient Safety through the Penn Center for Health Care Improvement and Patient Safety (CHIPS) and obtained a Master’s in Health Policy Research in 2017. I am the Patient Safety Officer for the outpatient practices at the University of Pennsylvania, Director of Quality for the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, and a Senior Research fellow at the Leonard Davis Institute for Health Economics.
My QI efforts are focused on improving healthcare delivery for patients with endocrine conditions. I have a particular interest in optimizing primary care-endocrinologist collaboration, patient-physician communication, and the use of technology to promote diabetes self-care behaviors. I also lead quality improvement, medication safety, and EHR optimization initiatives for hospitalized patients with diabetes.
Outside of work, I enjoy running, hiking, cooking, and reading.
