Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare: I love the complexity of patient care. Doing it well requires excellent thinking and clinical skills but also great ability to listen and communicate. Each patient has a unique set of needs. Figuring those out is a very satisfying process that requires constant effort. What I do when I'm not seeing patients: I try to devote my off time to quality family activities. I am also a serving reserve officer with multiple past deployments and challenging assignments. My non-clinical time is devoted to assuring that I give my very best attention to my family and fellow service members.
