PARABENS – Preservatives used in moisturizers, skin cleansers, shampoo and hair conditioner, as well as sunscreen, parabens are thought to be hormone disrupters. A 2004 research study detected non-degraded parabens in human breast cancer tumors. If the possibility of breast cancer concerns you—and it should—why not read labels on beauty products and avoid parabens?

Natural products that do not contain parabens are subject to mold and contamination if kept too long after opening. If you choose natural, paraben-free products, check the expiration date before purchasing and throw them out by that date or within six months after opening.
