Ruptured Brain Aneurysms--10 Ways to Prevent Them

10. Stress. Once thought to be only mildly important as a risk factor, we now know that stress can induce all kinds of damage on the human body. Among other things, it can affect blood pressure.

Conclusion

Actually, a number of things can make us more predisposed to aneurysms: living sedentary lifestyles; having a family history of high blood pressure; being over 45 years; having aneurysms in one's family tree; consuming alcoholic beverages; etc. By the same token, a number of simple solutions can greatly reduce the chance of succumbing to a ruptured aneurysm, including taking laxatives and antihypertensive medications.

The bottom line is that aneurysms can occur at any time; in fact, there is no way to prevent them, especially as we get older. Even if we cannot prevent them in many cases, we can nevertheless greatly reduce the chances of their rupturing, thus leading to a stroke or death.
