I have known Dr. Boris Abayev for almost 2 years now. I began seeing him after a colleague recommended him. At first, I balked because I’m in Manhattan (so was my colleague) and I didn’t want to travel. My pain was very severe so I finally did and it was the most important decision of my life. Before I saw Dr. Boris, my pain was ruling my life. I suffered for 5 years and no doctor had been able to help me. The first time I went to Dr. Boris, I experienced immediate relief. I had several different problems going on in my back, so it took several treatments to get them all. I have to go for periodic treatments, like maybe 1 x or 2x a year because my pelvis can fall out of alignment and when it does, it creates problems in my back. If it weren’t for Dr. Boris I don’t know what I would’ve done. The pain had really incapacitated me and I felt hopeless. He literally gave me my life back. I never imagined that my pain was the result of pinched nerves due to my misaligned pelvis. It manifested in sciatica, lower back pain, and upper back pain. This condition can be so insidious and devastating. He’s an expert in identifying where the problem lies and then his treatment will take it away. If you have any kind of pain and you’ve had no success getting it treated, try Dr. Boris. He might be the lifesaver for you that he was for me. Plus, he and his wife who assists him are very nice and good people. Its always a pleasure to see them.

The treatment rooms here weren't that clean, but they weren't out-of-control disgusting. I didn't mind using them but would have preferred a cleaner facility. The one thing I couldn't believe during my appointment was that they took a personal call right in front of me. I found it to be incredibly rude. They need to treat their staff with more respect. They weren't overly rude but they could have been a lot nicer. While the doctor was giving me injections he turned his head around to yell instructions to his wife who was handling some insurance claim. I asked him to pay attention while having needles near my spine. Another problem for me is that once you are done with your treatment the doctor imposes himself on us patients to in effect sell his services to other patients waiting to be treated for the first time. I found that to be intrusive and while not illegal it is immoral and unprofessional. This man is a condescending user and abuser. I do not recommend him to anyone. If you go to him don't fall for his request of a letter of recommendation because he insists on you giving him such a letter so he can use it against you later when you complain about him. He is a schemer and a cheat.

I've been places before where they were argumentative and angry, so I was nervous that I would encounter that here as well. Instead, they were very calm and understanding the entire time. I could tell they really care about everyone who visits them. I am always so impressed with how quickly my calls are answered here. I am never put on hold for a long time and love knowing that if I have a quick question I won't have to wait a half hour through terrible music to get it answered. The chairs they had in the waiting room were not the greatest. I wish they had put more thought into patient comfort, especially since they specialize in pain management.
They were friendly and made me feel like a part of the family. I felt comfortable the instant I walked in.

Dr. Boris Abayev is an excellent doctor and is very caring. He was able to help fix my back pains very quickly. I have felt much better after seeing this doctor. I only needed to go for a shot and didn’t need to be prescribed any strong medication. I usually only make a visit twice a year. I highly recommend this doctor for pain treatments.

I met Dr. Abayev as a last resort before considering back surgery after suffering for 30 years with back pain. He pinpointed the pain with such precision that when he applied the first treatment, I was 90% pain free. After a few days, I was 100% pain free, and still am and this was back in October 2010. I tried every medication for pain, acupuncture, massage therapy, physical therapy, electrotherapy, exercise, and nothing relieved the pain for long. I was looking for a cure and in Dr. Abayev, I found a true "Healer." He is highly skilled in his ability to precisely treat the exact location of the pain. There are no drugs to take so there are no dangerous side affects. As a human being, he is a man of patience, compassion, understanding, and integrity with the utmost professionalism. His caring is unmatched making himself available to patients 24/7 and even on Sundays. Unlike "Business" doctors who profit by "maintaining" a patients pain, Dr. Abayev "Heals" to the point that you may possibly not need to see him after your first visit or maybe a few if at all. I am "pain free" and I owe it to Dr. Abayev. My appreciation for his service is in telling everyone to search no more for any other doctor or treatment. Dr. Abayev will "Heal" you and like me, you will have a new "pain free" life. Dr. Abayev has restored my faith in what a true doctor is -- A Healer. You will never suffer again. Thank you, Dr. Abayev.
