Despite being listed as an urgent care I was charged $1056 for my son's cut lip, not counting the additional doctor's bill of $83 (after insurance). He was given an $8 antibiotic. Initially told, after running my insurance, that my share of the bill would be $350 (should have been my first clue). I paid with a debit card. Then a month later got hospital bill for $706 balance and separate doctor's charge. Was told when I called to discuss the bill - it's an ER not an urgent care - "should have opened up my search engine further and read more details". Explained I didn't look it up on a search engine, I live in the area and see urgent care on the building. Very misleading! I'm in healthcare and got took, I worry for others without medical background being mislead too. Doctor and nurse were very nice. Check-in lady was apathetic and I blame her for not telling me there would be further payment required.
