What is Sophrology?
Sophrology is a relaxation therapy blending Mindfulness, Meditation, Breathing techniques and Visualization. It boosts physical & mental health. Sophrology increases inner harmony. It was originally created in 1960 to aide Veterans with PTSD and people suffering with Depression. Today it is practiced by anyone wishing to live a harmonious life. Athletes use it to build mental strength. Kids are taught it at school and learn how become calm within, more focused, & build Self-esteem. Doctors endorse Sophrology for stress management as well as ADHD, Depression & PTSD. It has existed In Europe since 1960 and is endorsed by many Health Insurance companies.

Where is Sophrology Practiced?
It is not a hands-on therapy. Exercises are done sitting, standing or lying down and can be as short as five minutes. Sophrology can be practiced anywhere & doesn't require special gear.
Does it help with serious health issues?
Sophrology is fully compatible with and complementary to other forms of therapy but does not replace or make for a psychological or medical follow up. It has been used to help with the following:
Niamh Borrel is from Dublin, Ireland. She lived 16 years in Geneva, Switzerland where she worked for the International Labour Organization agency of the United Nations.
While undertaking various treatments for chronic pain, she became interested in the science of Sophrology. After just one session she enrolled in the degree course!

Sessions: Sessions are 30-45 minutes long, subject to experience.
The individual session is a bespoke program designed for the person’s specific needs.
